Georgia Stachofsky, MT-BC
Over the course of my life, collegiate schooling, and specialized trainings, I have found that in many ways typical “mainstream” therapy might be useful, but ultimately might not provide individuals with the immediate healing, peace, and happiness they are seeking.
Using methods for accessing the subconscious mind (because consciously telling someone to heal, be happy, or “just get over it” has never worked), and bringing a truly empathetic approach to the therapy session has been incredibly refreshing for me as a therapist. Never needing my clients to relive their troubling/traumatic experiences to provide healing has been just as mind-blowing as it sounds (as I was not originally trained in that way). As the therapist, I believe it is my job to help you to heal and find relief of whatever is causing you distress, stuckness, or anxiety. Thus, my clients are never “resistant to therapy” because they trust me to handle it for them, and they can come as they are.
My Story
My own journey with anxiety and depression peaked in high school. I was never diagnosed because I hid it well. I sought ways to help myself with supplements and essential oils at that time, but did not find much relief. During my time in college, pursuing my bachelor’s in Music Therapy, I went to therapy for the first time and learned many things about myself and creating good coping skills for managing stage-fright (as I had to perform often), setting boundaries in my personal relationships, and managing the anxiety of life at that time. It was good, but ultimately I found that therapy in that way, yoga, and cbd oil did not truly elicit any major changes in my mental health overall.
Through the process of becoming a mother (I have 3 children, and another due in December), I dealt with new layers of trauma from my induction experience with my first and the NICU stay with the second baby. But during that time I had started my private practice, A Joyful Hope, LLC, and had pursued many trainings around music therapy, prenatal and postpartum mental health issues, and especially trauma resolution. I especially enjoy working with other moms who are looking to heal from grief, frustration surrounding unmet expectations, and traumas/highly emotional situations that just seem to be stuck under their skin.
I have made it my passion to help people resolve their traumas, stuckness, etc. through a method that I have refined and found only success with. I do therapy that actually works. I don’t need to build up months of rapport with you. And we can take care of your issue/situation/problem in one session. (Yes, it can work that quickly.)
If you have any questions, you are welcome to book a free consultation call with me, and I would be happy to chat with you about my approach and helping you to get the healing you have been seeking!
